Many students over the year who attended the four level Mythic
Tarot course requested that the college offer an introductory
course in psychological astrology to complement the correspondences
of astrology with Tarot.
We have chosen relationships as a theme for several of our
courses because the 98% of people requesting consultations
are females asking about relationships. Over the last two
years we now see 15% too 20% rise in males seeking consultations
and courses.
This one day workshop is aimed at students who have attended
at least the first two levels of the Mythic Tarot course.
In his book The Twelve House, Howard Sasportas
explains the difference between conventional astrology and
psychological astrology when, he writes, conventional astrology
perceives events as purely external circumstances which befall
us, traditional astrology interprets placements in the chart
in a deterministic and fatalistic light.
The philosophical premise upon which Psychological Astrology
is based is that a person’s reality springs outward from his
or her inner landscape of thoughts, feelings, expectations
and belief. The Horoscope is a map of our inbuilt patterns,
an understanding of those patterns enables us to co operate
with our inborn nature, and co create with the unfoldment
of our life plan.
Background of the Planets
There will be a brief outline of the mythological background
of each planet and the psychological complexes associated
with those planets, for example:
- Sun: Father, purpose, Ego
- Moon: Mother, family, our roots
- Mercury: Communication, the mind, the trickster
- Venus: Love, values, relationship
- Mars: Sexuality drive aggression
- Jupiter: Expansion, the symbol making capacity
of the psyche
- Saturn: Our Shadow, our limitations, our defences
Outer Planets: De-structuring, principles, clearing
away old Forms to make way for the new
- Uranus: changes, new ideas
- Neptune: Fusion, seeks union
- Pluto: The dark undifferentiated side of our nature
- Chiron: The incurable wound.
Element Balance
We will look at the four elements in Astrology, the four psychological
types. We will analyze the meaning of the twelve houses, which
are thought of as the basic building of the Horoscope.
The Signs
We will discuss the basic meaning of each sign, and take
a look at the mythic back ground to enrich the sign as 'an
archetypal pattern, rather than a static set or personality
traits' (Juliet Sharman Burke).
Synastry Horoscope and the Composite Horoscope
In the second part of the workshop, we will be looking
at the Synastry Horoscope and the Composite Horoscope, where
we can focus. Through the lens of the Synastry Horoscope and
Composite Horoscope, we will examine the following:
- What we are looking for
- What we attract in
- Why we attract in certain types of partners
- The influence of our parents
- The inner partner
- The balance of opposites
- What we are projecting on to our partners
- The blame game
- Taking back our projections
- Taking responsibility
Please bring along a horoscope for discussion.
