The Mythic Tarot symbols can be related to the archetypal psychology of Jung. The Major Arcana contain the main archetypes encountered during Jung's individuation process.
Greek myths are psychological profiles of human characteristics. It could be said that Jung has made Tarot more popular, or that Tarot has made Jung more popular. Either way, they both needed to be made more accessible and comprehensible to a wider audience, rather than being shrouded in mystery or unavailable because of intellectual remoteness and exclusivity.

The main aspect of Jung's work is the resolution (or reconciliation) of dualities within. The Fool (ourselves) journeys through both his dark and light side, and the male/female aspects of his nature. The archetypes of the major arcana contain both positive and negative sides. They represent our own innate forces, our ambivalences our multisided personalities. The archetypes are the essential building blocks of our invisible life in effect they are the reality behind the reality, and make up the major dynamical components of the unconscious. The Major Arcana deal with the spiritual causes of physical events. The way we perceive these causes is through the imagination and the cards act as a mirror of the psyche. Learning the therapeutic uses of the cards involves a process of self reflection. This is inbuilt in the learning dynamic of the Mythic Tarot.
